I'm an architectural historian, artist, illustrator, and writer from Aruba (the Caribbean).

My work connects art and architectural history, creative practice, and heritage — driven by which stories get told, which ones don't, and what it looks like to change that. Among other things, I work in Digital Collections at the Biblioteca Nacional Aruba (Aruba's National Library), where digital preservation and access are part of the daily work. I'm also making art, writing, and recently took up the cello.

As an artist and illustrator, I move between painting, drawing, writing, and video. My artistic practice circles around identity, mental health, and language.

In 2018, I co-founded 6 ISLANDS Zine, — an idea I had been brewing since my graduate years in 2015/2016 — a bi-annual publication archiving stories, voices, and ideas from Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten, and the diaspora. Each issue explores a theme: language, sexuality, decolonial practices, myths. The zine and community events bring together writers, artists, and thinkers from across the islands. In 2026, I passed the torch to focus on new directions. I am proud of what we built together and excited about what comes next for 6 ISLANDS Zine.

I hold an MA from the University of Amsterdam, where I focused on Caribbean History of Architecture. My research is on Jimmy's Place — once a legendary queer bar in Aruba. Based on interviews, it looks at how queer communities carved out joy and belonging in places that weren't built for them. This field research was supported by the Silvia W. de Groot Fonds.
